Are you organizing a house party or local event? Or know of a candidate coming to Oregon? Tell us! We’d be happy to publicize that!
The next DNC debate, to be held in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, March 15, will likely feature only two candidates: Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.
The qualification rules announced by the DNC focus on delegate counts rather than fundraising or polling. To appear on the stage a candidate must have won at least 20% of the total delegates awarded in the state primary contests by March 15. Both Biden and Sanders have done so. Tulsi Gabbard, the third candidate still running, has only two pledged delegates after Super Tuesday, far short of the 374 needed.
Two days ahead of the Arizona primary, this debate will be hosted jointly by CNN and Univision. The DNC has stated that there will be a dozen debates in total.
The Benton County Democrats are not endorsing candidates during the primaries. We DO encourage everyone to get involved in this exciting time to be a Democrat and support the candidate(s) of their choosing.
